Amoebic gill disease in Salmon
On this project, which is supported by the Irish Government's Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and by industry partners, we are exploring the utility of the gill microbiome in achieving early detection of amoebic gill disease (AGD) in Atlantic Salmon. We are collaborating with Cindy Smith (Glasgow), Grace McCormack (Zoology, NUI Galway) and Eugene McCarthy (Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology), as well as fish farms along the west coast of Ireland.
